Christmas is over – new year has started

As lovely as it’s been to sit back and relax over the Christmas period, there needs to be a time where you have to get back to reality put the tree away for another year, start planning the next 12 months.

And of course let’s no forget It’s that time of year where all you read everyone’s new year resolution’s “New year, new me”

The making of that New Year’s resolution whether it be starting to eat healthier, joining the gym or stop drinking then by February they’re done, back to actively seeking out the nearest “Chinese”. Let’s face it if you’re not already doing it and not just taken a break it’s going to be hard to motivate yourself to start.

If your anything like me you probably still have a cupboard full of Christmas chocolate/goodies, plenty of alcohol to open your own small shop.

So for the last few years I have made promises to myself, keeping it simple realistic goals I can keep to, still being able to stand on my own two feet (quite literally), keeping my muscles moving as much as possible, eating healthier and drinking plenty of water.

Adding to my keeping it simple – raise awareness about disabilities and Muscular Dystrophy has become a big part of my life lately, whether it’s been me sharing my life living with Muscular Dystrophy though a picture or my blog, plus getting involved with the changing places campaign and yoocan website.

So I will once again keeping up with raising awareness about Muscular Dystrophy and my life with Muscular Dystrophy those my blogs, keep blogging for the youcan website, and this year my husband will be actively getting involved by doing a skydive (I’m so proud of him for stepping up to help me not only raise awareness but to raise money for a great charity MDUK.

For me I’ve got the opportunity to do my very own charity event for the first time so I will be organising that and getting as many family and friends involved as possible, I will of course still be sharing and helping the changing places campaign as I think it’s so important for these toilets to be widely available for everyone that needs them,

I’m super excited for this year and can’t wait to get really stuck in.
